Early 20th-century Yomut rug, knotted by women on a horizontal loom on the borders of Turkmenistan. The design consists of typical geometric medallions, well arranged rhythmically. The colours are Bordeaux (or crimson), white, blue and orange. The borders are rich and interesting, giving a sense of movement to the composition.
