Circular polychrome terracotta sculpture depicting the Madonna and Child. On a blue background, representing the sky, fly five small cherubs with colored wings and cute faces. In the center, a haughty yet sweet Madonna, dressed in the classic colors of red and blue, gently holds the Child, resting him on her lap and holding him lovingly with her hands. The Child, dressed in a white tunic, rests his cheek against his Mother's and with his right hand plays with the Madonna's hair. The pleasant representation, of absolutely classical formation, reveals, thanks to the range and brilliance of the colors used, the attitudes and represented physiognomies, a clear "modern" and de-dramatizing interpretation of the traditional subject of Christian iconography.
