Oil on panel depicting a scene from the Gospel of John, in which Jesus meets the Samaritan woman at Jacob's well. This work, of some artistic interest, can probably be traced, in terms of its scenographic arrangement and characterization of the figures, to the Bolognese environment of the early 17th century. The painting is of high quality, with a proportionate rendering of the figures in the foreground in front of Jacob's well, which is located at the center of the scenic construction, while a large classical column in ruins emerges slightly behind it.
The landscape that opens up on the horizon leads towards a city in the distance with a fairytale flavor. The frame on which the panel is mounted is in red lacquer and is original and contemporary to the painting.
The dimensions of the panel are: 22 cm x 32 cm The dimensions including the frame are: 37 cm x 45 cm.
