Beautiful still life or 'capriccio' of flowers and fruit characterized by clear and luminous colors, which bring out the vivid colors of elements such as the orange of the melon and the red of the vine leaves. The plant compendium composed of summer fruits is placed on a multi-level terrain with a clear sky in the background.
Although the painting bears an old attribution to the prestigious transalpine painter Maximillian Pfeiler, it is more plausible that this painting was executed in Italy, probably in the Emilian area by a talented painter with a transalpine taste, during the first half of the 18th century.
The painting has a gilded 'Salvador Rosa' frame from the period. The painting is in excellent condition.
