Auguste Kind was born in Forbach, in the department of Moselle, in 1863. He is mainly remembered as a painter
of still lifes and bouquets of flowers, working at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century.
Kind was a pupil of Pierre Bourgogne and Charles Thomas, two artists who influenced him in technique and style.
He exhibited regularly at the Salon de Nancy from 1896 and at the Salon Des Artistes Français. He received an award in 1903.
Some works by this artist are kept in the museum of Nancy. He continued to work and exhibit until at least 1924.
He lived between Nancy and Paris, where he also had a studio. The oil painting is framed in a gold frame.
The oil painting and the frame have been carefully and professionally restored.
