Oil painting on canvas depicting Saint Apollonia of Alexandria, a Christian martyr venerated by the Catholic and Orthodox Churches as a saint. Tradition has it that her teeth were pulled out, and for this reason, she is considered the patron saint of dentists and dental technicians.
The painter decided to depict the Saint in full and in a monumental form, and stylistically, he seems to have been inspired by the representations of the early 16th-century Umbrian-Tuscan style and Perugino's purism.
The painting measures 150 cm x 64 cm. Given the particular dimensions and its verticality, it is possible that the canvas was intended to decorate a particular element of liturgical furnishings.
