The painting is signed by the artist Giuseppe Graziosi on the back and bears a title that identifies the subject as the old village of San Remo. Graziosi, born in Savignano sul Panaro (Modena), was a student of Augusto Rivalta. The artist was active as a sculptor, painter, engraver, and lithographer. His pictorial style, in particular, was influenced not only by his teacher Rivalta but also by the Impressionist movement.
