Rare bergère in masterfully carved and lacquered wood from French classicism (circa 1770), signed in the inner frame clearly reading "M.Audran" - see photo. It may be Michael Audran (1701-1771), known as an engraver and tapestry maker for the court of Versailles but perhaps also occasionally a cabinetmaker. The signature is now covered by the upholstery. The latter was photographed during the sanitization and integration of the upholstery itself. It is a work in conditions of practical wooden integrity. Measures cm. 70 wide, cm. 80 of max. depth, cm. 109 in height; seat height cm. 45. The upholstery is made with the original technique of the time without the use of springs and synthetic foam, covered with elegant blue satin. It has not undergone wooden restorations as the piece of furniture is in evident good state of preservation and wooden integrity with original lacquer not retouched; patina and signs of use consistent with the time.
