The Musée de peinture et de sculpture in Grenoble houses a Winter Landscape (inv. no. MG 428) signed “Franc.cus Foschi, ancniensis pinxit Roma anno 1750.” Also in Grenoble are two other landscapes by Francesco: the first is a Winter Landscape with stream and waterfalls, which bears the inscription “Violand Danthon 1786” on the back; the second, depicting a Mountainous Landscape with snow, is striking for its realistic rendering of the snowy mountains, reminiscent of Dutch painting. Still in France, in the Musée des beaux-arts in Lille, there is a Snowfall with travelers. Other Snowy scenes by Francesco are found in Darmstadt and at the Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle [from Trecani.it]
