"AURORA" PAINTING, MID-19TH CENTURY  Translated
Description:
Beautiful oil painting on canvas, in a carved and gilded wooden frame with pastiglia gilding. The painting depicts Apollo on a chariot with horses, surrounded by maidens personifying the hours, while on the right there is Aurora, who flies and brings light to the night landscape. The quadriga is also surmounted by the putto Phosphorus, i.e. the one who brings the light. It is a painting of great taste and elegance, which is inspired by the "Triumph of Apollo guided by Aurora" by Guido Reni, a baroque fresco preserved at the Casino-Palazzo Pallavicini Rospigliosi. Italian manufacture from the mid-19th century. Dimensions: H x W x D overall 51 x 91 x 5cm; H x W 34 x 74cm  Translated
