The fame of the four Raingo brothers began as clockmakers; then in 1841 they added bronzes and furniture to their repertoire.
Known for the quality of their gilded bronze, in 1860 Raingo Fréres furnished the apartments of Emperor Napoleon III and his wife, Empress Eugenie; Examples of such furnishings are now in the collection of the Louvre (source: 19th Century Antiques)
