Fabulous circular oil painting on walnut panel, in a carved and gold leaf gilded wooden frame. The painting depicts a hilly landscape, in which architectures and trees can be glimpsed. Among these, in the foreground, are depicted two figures identified as Tobias and the Archangel Raphael. It is a biblical subject contained in the Book of Tobit, in which the Archangel Raphael helps Tobias on his journey, saving his life more than once. This representation was also particularly popular during the Renaissance period in Florence, as it was believed to protect young people who were leaving on a journey. The painting is in good condition and on the back it has the date (1600) and some inscriptions relating to the artist. Florentine manufacture from the beginning of the 17th century.
