Description:
The image in photo #1 shows a splendid artwork, a double-sided glazed ceramic wall panel dedicated to Pinocchio, made around the 50s/60s by the Florentine sculptor and ceramicist Marcello Fantoni (Florence 1915/2011): the decorative panel is made up of two elements (each measuring cm.38: h.65) that make up a single design (cm.76; h.65) with playful elements linked to the story of the world's most famous puppet, such as the puppet itself, a rocking horse, a pinwheel, a carousel, as well as educational elements: a blackboard with mathematical operations and an abacus. The style is characterized by a simple and infantile graphic design with synthetic lines and soft colors. In 1936 Marcello Fantoni founded the Fantoni Ceramiche manufacture in Florence. The work is in an excellent state of preservation: a small defect in the upper right corner, which you can see in photo #9.
