Alberto Nobili, "Diana," glazed ceramic, 20th century  Translated
Description:
Alberto Nobili, "Diana," glazed ceramic, 20th century Material: Glazed ceramic Dimensions: H 42 x W 15 cm Author: Alberto Nobili Period: 20th century This glazed ceramic sculpture evokes Art Deco elegance, with a clear influence from the Italian Novecento style. The female figure, presumably the goddess Diana, stands with a proud and slender posture, typical of the creations of the period. The work bears the “N di Nobili” mark on the bottom and is part of the production of the Epigoni Lenci, who emerged after the golden age of the original manufacturer, reviving and developing their distinctive style. The finely modeled body has a clear and luminous complexion, which contrasts with the cobalt blue drapery. On her shoulder, the goddess carries a golden quiver, a distinctive symbol of the huntress. The sculpture rests on a circular base, also decorated with a golden outline, which enhances its verticality and overall lightness. The work is a significant example of the work of Alberto Nobili, part of the “Epigoni Lenci” group, artists who continued and reinterpreted the aesthetics of the famous Turin-based Lenci factory, known for its artistic ceramics and figurines.  Translated
