Description:
Antique Sardinian Dominican rosary from the Holy Land made in the first half of the 19th century in silver and mother-of-pearl. Terminal with Crucifix (cm.10x5) also in carved mother-of-pearl with 4 stepped ends, with Jesus and the Madonna facing each other. Above the cross a granulated silver bead: the mother-of-pearl cross, in ebony thickness (cm.1) has 23 inlays also in mother-of-pearl (photo n°10). Mother-of-pearl crown with 5 posts with paternosters, also in larger mother-of-pearl: each Pater, on both sides, is linked by a double stitch called giunchigliu (traditional Sardinian stitches) which we also find in the appendage with silver plate separator made by casting (lost wax). Excellent state of conservation: cm.100+7+10 (cross).
