Pair of solid turned brass candlesticks, of Italian manufacture, datable between the late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries. The two pieces are distinguished by the turned structure with alternating profiles and the trilobed base with lion's paw feet. The stem is turned with elegance and regularity, while the base, flatter and simpler, guarantees excellent stability. Total height: 39 cm Maximum width of the base: 15.5 cm The original tip has been modified over time to allow the insertion of electrical systems, as per visible traces on the top. Apart from this transformation, the candlesticks are in good conservation condition, with a patina consistent with age and use.
