Description:
An imposing and extraordinary Piedmontese sideboard dating back to the mid-19th century, made of precious solid walnut and richly carved, inspired by the Italian Renaissance.
The front features a large drop-leaf door, skillfully crafted to mimic the division into several drawers. An upper and a lower drawer, perfectly integrated into the structure, are decorated with splendid carved medallions with floral and figurative motifs, enclosed by elegant finely sculpted perimeter frames. The sides are embellished with engraved geometric motifs and dominated by a large central rosette, while the richly decorated side uprights clearly recall the Renaissance style with sculpted pilasters and architectural details.
The structure is solid and harmonious in its proportions, with a shaped base and carved corbel feet, which give balance and character to the piece of furniture. The warm patina of the walnut enhances the depth of the carvings and tells the story of time with authentic elegance.
Perfect for classic, historical settings or as a disruptive element in a contemporary context, this rare example of a 19th-century sideboard is a testimony to the excellence of Italian cabinet-making.
