The Antique Sculpture, from the 1930s, depicts a Warrior, an Archer with bow and arrow who expresses strength and power.
The work presented here is made of Antimony Metal and was created in the first half of the 20th century. Art Deco.
The sculpture has its original 20th-century Green Patina and rests on a stone base.
The work expresses strength, elegance, and physical agility and is signed M. Le Verrier, a French sculptor.
Louis Octave Maxime Le Verrier (1891-1973), but more commonly known as Max Le Verrier,
was one of the first to participate in the Art Deco movement in Paris, France. Le Verrier studied at the University
of Art and Design in Geneva, his teachers were Marcel Bouraine and Pierre Le Faguays.
He returned to Paris in 1919. In 1925 he exhibited his sculptures at the "Exposition internationale des Arts décoratifs
et industriels modernes" in Paris, where he won a gold medal.
His first popular sculpture is a pelican, in 1925.
When he inherited a small metal foundry in 1926, he began to create his Art Deco sculptures.
