Description:
Refined Nautilus shell-shaped spoon warmer handmade in Sheffield by Atkin Brothers silversmiths around 1886, during the Victorian period. Hand-chiseled, lid with a hinged opening that bears the initials D.P.M (photo n°3) engraved. Placed on a removable base (cm.15x9) made by casting that represents a rock (photo n°9) with the handle in the shape of a shell (photo n°7). The dimensions of this refined silver-plated spoon warmer are as follows: length cm.16, height cm.14 and width cm.9. Hallmarked under the base (photo n°8): it was filled with hot water and brought to the table with the serving spoons inside, which in this way were kept warm. The antique spoon warmer, having been recently resilvered in Alexandria, is in perfect condition: click here for the full address of the Gruppo Arsal company since 1915, which carries out restorations and resilverings for us with great precision.
