Description:
Antique travel shaving brush dating back to the second half of the 19th century, very rare and well-preserved, made of silver complete with bristles (not original).
It is a three-piece set designed to be closed when not in use, keeping it clean.
It consists of an empty handle, an end piece with a screw cap, and a screw-in seat for the bristles.
These three pieces assemble neatly via threaded screw fittings to form a full-size shaving brush, and when not in use can be disassembled into a cylindrical silver object of Virtue.
The handle is richly decorated with the crest of the original owner, depicting a knight's arm holding a weapon.
This shaving brush makes an excellent addition to any collection of vintage silverware.
