Large trumeau supported by carved bracket feet, the lower body has three drawers plus one small drawer flanked by two pull-out slides to support the top hinged door that opens to reveal a writing cabinet with small drawers, document compartments, and a central door.
The upper body has two candle slides surmounted by a pair of doors with mirrors, which open to reveal an architectural castle, with two tapered pilasters framing two doors and two central drawers, with two rows of drawers on the sides, and various document compartments and a compartment at the top. There are also several hidden compartments, such as the pilaster capitals, which can be pulled out as drawers.
Entirely veneered in walnut burl, while all the frames and carved columns of the interiors are made of "head"-turned walnut; it features characteristic gilded brass escutcheons and handles (including those on the sides); oak interiors.
Present is a "Fordham London" stamp, presumably from a transporter or a warehouse.
