Item Description
Empire nightstand, made of walnut. Two doors in the shape of drawer fronts open downwards and conceal two large compartments. They are enclosed by two columns on the sides resting on a high plinth which is supported by two bulbous feet at the front and a plinth at the rear. The columns, enriched by capitals and bases in gilded bronze, support a projecting band in the shape of an architrave in which a compartment for an under-top drawer has been created at the front. The top, slightly projecting, can be opened downwards to reveal a further compartment. The real protagonist of this furniture is its essence, which with its beautiful shades and designs obtained with the grain literally decorates the entire surface. Slight restoration is suggested.
