Beautiful large and high walnut chest from the late 16th century, sculpted columns with grotesque masks and fantastically carved feet with leonine figures, rich ironwork (key not present). A secret door had been made in the back of the chest to access a secret compartment in the wall, but the original material is still intact. Exceptional patina.
