Description:
Large, rare terrestrial globe (cm. Ø33; h.50) of German origin, made around 1950 by the renowned firm Columbus Colombus with aluminum meridian on whose top is fixed the model of a small chromed plane of cm.4.5 with wingspan of cm.9 (photo n°6): it is the Junkers F13, German low-wing airliner, single-engine and monoplane, used for freight and passenger transport (n° 4 seats): measured m.9.5, made the 1st flight in 1919. The globe is enhanced by a base in turned beech wood of round shape (cm.Ø22, h. cm.1.5), whose total height is cm.13 (photo n°5). The cartography of the chromolithographed papier-mâché sphere was edited by Dr. Neuses and C. Luther (photo n°10). It is in good condition.
