Triptych composed of a clock in gilded and blue enameled bronze and two two-flame candlesticks with musical cherubs in gilded and blue enameled bronze - "Raingo Frères" France, first half of the 19th century.
Height 39 cm.
The "Raingo Frères" house, which includes the four sons of Zacharie Joseph Raingo (the clockmaker-engineer of King Louis Philippe), was founded in 1823 and soon became recognized for its art in bronze work. From 1860, the Raingo brothers created remarkable objects for the Emperor and Empress Eugenia, a collection that can be admired today in the Louvre Museum; they also work in collaboration with the famous cabinetmaker François Linke. In 1862, the company exhibited its works at the Universal Exhibition in London; it won awards at the World's Fairs in Paris in 1867, 1878 and 1889, as well as the gold medal at the World's Fair of 1889. The work of the Raingo brothers can be found in many museums, including the Musée des Arts et Métiers in Paris, the Royal Museum of Art and History in Brussels, the Poldi Pezzoli Museum in Milan and the Palacio Real in Madrid.
