ANTIQUE PAINTINGS, PORTRAITS OF A WOMAN AT THE PIANO, MID-TWENTIETH CENTURY. (QR574)  Translated
Description:
(QR574) The antique paintings category proposes a Portrait of a Young Woman Playing the Piano, an oil painting on canvas, from the Mid-Twentieth Century. It is a portrait of a girl in a domestic setting, depicted in an intimate moment of study in her room. The painter uses warm colors that create a beautiful atmosphere with soft light. The work is dated 1950 and signed H. Angéniol in the lower left, a French painter from Lyon known for portraits, landscape paintings, religious paintings, and flower still lifes. French antique. Henri-Charles Angéniol (1870-1959) studied at the School of Fine Arts in both Lyon and Paris, taking lessons with the painter Tony Tollet and later working in the studio of the artist Gustave Moreau. He exhibited his paintings at the "Salon des Artistes Français" in Paris from 1904 to 1914. He continuously exhibited his works at the "Société lyonnaise des Beaux-Arts" from 1919-1959. He was praised by the press of the period for his ability to portray subjects in their intimate expressiveness in moments of everyday life. His painting was defined as "intimist painting." The work is presented with a beautiful gilded frame from the twentieth century. The frame and oil painting have been professionally restored. www.bisgart.com Restored Painting | French Origin | Twentieth Century | French Antique | Antique Paintings | Lyon School Bibliography: E.
