Description:
A delightful Sardinian girl's costume from the village of Desulo, handmade in the mid-20th century of red wool cloth (su scarlattu) and blue satin. Hand-embroidered with the classic colors yellow, red, green and blue. The point they used most often was the cross-stitch (punt'e ruge), but there are many variations: the yellow triangles are called pitz'e ranna (embroidery with points). The costume includes: the bodice (photo no. 8), the shirt (photo no. 5), the skirt, (photo no. 6 and 7), the apron (photo no. 9) and the bonnet (photo no. 4) called su Cucuddu (or Su cuguddu). Excellent state of preservation: made completely by hand. To see other photos Click here.
