Terracotta sculpture that allegorically portrays the theme of the river or the river deity in the guise of a mature nude man crouching on a barrel that is pouring liquid. The statue is attached to a circular gray marble base.
The subject is taken from the marble work “A River” by Jean Jacques Caffieri from 1759, now kept in the Louvre and was made in the early 19th century.
