The painting is signed Luigi Lanza (1860-1913), an Italian painter of landscapes and seascapes, brother of the painter Giovanni Lanza. Active in the nineteenth century.
Luigi Lanza (1860-1913) was born in Venice, where he studied at the Venice Academy and dedicated himself to oil painting of lagoon landscapes and perspective views. He participated in the 1881 exhibition in Turin, later exhibiting his works also in Florence, Milan, Venice and Genoa.
Finally, in 1888 he exhibited at the Exhibition of Italian Art in London, the painting "I Frari".
The antique painting has an original carved wood lacquered frame from the early twentieth century, contemporary with the work. The painting and frame have been restored.
