A slice of the sea enclosed in a work born from the imagination and skill of a great master, Giuliano Tosi.
Large reversible centerpiece with marine polychromy.
The "submersion" and "incalmo" techniques, used with extreme mastery by the artist, allow the plate to be used on both sides, recalling, when turned upside down, the appearance of a jellyfish with "remora" fish covering its surface with a three-dimensional effect.
A masterpiece of Master Giuliano Tosi's skill.
High craftsmanship.
Signed work.
Murano (Venice) - 20th century.

"Submersion" or "sommerso" technique:
"Sommerso" is a form of Murano glass art, created hot, that features layers of contrasting colors.
The glass consists of an outer layer of varying thickness superimposed on a layer of different color. It is obtained hot by immersing the glass in crucibles of different colors. The object is made up of various layers of different thicknesses and colors. This process is a popular technique for vases and is sometimes used with great skill to create sculptures.
"Incalmo" technique:
A difficult and typical Muranese technique that consists of hot-joining two open blown glass pieces, usually of different colors.
