Small landscape painting with travelers, oil on canvas from the late 18th century.
The painting depicts a rural landscape with unidentified travelers, as was customary for imaginary rustic paintings.
It features perspective stages with diminishing elements and is closed in the background by a faint blue sky that is beginning to be covered by a large mass of grey clouds. In the lower right of the painting, travelers on horseback are resting and talking to each other, and it can be seen that one of them is pointing out the way to go. Finally, the painting is set in an ebonized black guilloché frame with light wood applications in walnut burl dating back to the first half of the 20th century.
