The Three Geniuses

Trained between 1856 and 1868 with G. Trécourt at the Civic School of Painting in Pavia, where he obtained several awards, including the Frank prize in 1864 with Imelda dei Lambertazzi next to the corpse of her lover (Pavia, Civic Museum). Faithful to a prudent compositional rigor of academic origin, Buzio was however a gifted colorist, renewing in this sense the rendering of historical and genre subjects, to which he added the activity of portrait painter.
