Elegant Murano five-light chandelier - New Entry  Translated
Description:
Elegant five-light chandelier, crystal and gold. Its arms are facing upwards with "rigamenà" (or "torchon") workmanship and cups worked with "balloton", also called "cabochon", to better reflect the light in the room. The stems of the leaves and flowers have the same characteristic "hot" workmanship as the arms. The petals of the flowers are "pinched", in the shape of daffodils, and the leaves have a particular twisted shape made by hand with mastery by the Murano glass masters. Measurements: height cm. 64 width cm. 48 Venezia / Murano : XX century Techniques: RIGAMENÀ - RIGADIN RITORTO: decorative motif used in the production of Murano chandeliers, which gives the glass surface the unmistakable spiral workmanship. The technique consists of inserting the vitreous bolo, attached to the blowpipe, inside a bronze mold, called bronzin. The texture impressed in the vitreous mass, at the moment of blowing, widens, to form the texture in question. It is important to remember that the mold imprints the decorative motif but not the shape, which is made strictly freehand. BALLOTON: the term indicates a particular process with which the typical diamond pattern is conferred to the surface of the glass. This texture is obtained by inserting the vitreous bolo, attached to the blowpipe, inside a rudimentary mold, called bronzin. At the moment of blowing, the ribs impressed by the mold widen, to form the mesh design. It is important to remember that the mold imprints the decoration but not the shape, which is made strictly freehand. www.palazzodelbuonsignore.com https://www.romagnavirtualtour.it/virtual-tour-palazzo-del-buon-signore/  Translated
