He studied painting under M. Gordigiani (Portrait of M. Gordigiani at the easel, Florence, Gallery of Modern Art of Palazzo Pitti) and, following the example of his master, dedicated himself to portraiture, making his debut in 1875 at the Florentine Society of Fine Arts, where he returned with genre themes (1877, a sweet abandonment; 1878 The declamation of a toast, 1880, In the cellar). In 1886 he participated in the Livorno Exhibition with Mezzogiorno.
