Camillo Procaccini (Bologna, 1560 - Milan, 1629) - HOLY FAMILY - oil on panel (New Entry)
Son and student of Ercole the Elder, Camillo Procaccini was one of the most distinguished figures of Emilian Mannerism with references to the painting of Correggio and the Zuccari.
In his maturity, he was in Milan the main interpreter of the commissions of Cardinal F. Borromeo.
His works appear in many Italian and foreign museums and in major international private collections.
In this delightful work, which still reveals the master's respect for the late Renaissance compositional iconography, lights and shadows, pasty and dark colors, figures in naturalistic poses, reveal an initial adherence of the artist to the new compositional themes of the early seventeenth century.
Certified work, high school.
