Male bust in white marble, signed and dated "G. EMANUELI F. / 1838". The sculpture depicts a man with a voluminous curled tuft above his high forehead, while the full face, with its characteristic dimple on the chin, is framed by two thick sideburns. The austere attitude and stern gaze rigidly fixed on an unspecified point in the distance fall within the typology of the celebratory marble portrait, recalling the heroic atmosphere of the early 1800s. The rich clothing, certainly aimed at the laudatory depiction of the effigy, reflects the fashion of the time: a standing-collar shirt, on which a brooch with the singular shape of an Uroboros in an "8" shape is pinned at chest height. He wears a tied tie around his neck, while a luxurious fur-trimmed cloak wraps around his shoulders, enveloping the figure; the draping of the cloak is interesting, elegantly resolving the half-bust cut of the sculpture.
