This high-quality work is signed by Pierre-Jules MÈNE (1810-1879), a prominent French sculptor of the 19th century.
Pierre-Jules MÈNE was born on March 25, 1810, in Paris and died in 1879, also in Paris.
A student of René Compaire, he participated in the Salon de Paris from 1838 to 1879.
During his career, he received numerous awards and medals, including the first-class medal in 1852 and 1861.
He sculpted animals and animal groups. Furthermore, many of his works are found in various museums.
