From Glossary: Murano Blown Glass Crafts
RIGAMENÀ / TWISTED RIGADIN: Decorative motif used in the production of Murano lamps and chandeliers, which gives the glass surface the unmistakable spiral workmanship. The technique consists of inserting the vitreous bolus, attached to the blowpipe, inside a bronze mold, called bronzin. The texture impressed in the vitreous mass, when blown, widens, to form the texture in question. It is important to remember that the mold imprints the decorative motif but not the shape, which is made strictly freehand.
