Beautiful painting on original canvas depicting the Sermon of Saint Francis de Sales - painting of the Roman school, very close to the productions of Lazzaro Baldi (Pistoia 1624-1703 Rome), if not directly attributable to his hand. In fact, a version of the same scene is known of this painter, who worked mainly in Rome, but it is much smaller. Being from the collection of a noble family, we hypothesize it may be an original painting. The painting is left on the original canvas so it needs conservative restoration, as does its splendid contemporary gilded and sandblasted frame. The measurements of the canvas are 100cm x 75cm. It is provided with a historical certificate of guarantee.
