The painter has painted the iconographic attributes usually associated with the Saint, such as the skull and the stigmata (peculiarity of an iconographic version of a more mature Saint Francis, conscious and participating in the sufferings of Christ).
Excellent pictorial execution, note the expression on the Saint's face and the realism of the hand resting on the skull.
Good state of conservation, minor pictorial retouching in the monochrome areas of the background and one on the upper part of the skull.
