PAIR OF TOPAZ YELLOW - TOPAZ YELLOW AND PINK CHAMPAGNE/PROSECCO FLUTES signed PAULY - MURANO GLASS - VENICE  Translated
Description:
Among the works of art that the ancient Venetian company Pauly produced in the past are particular goblets that we can sincerely define as true "precious gems" in which to sip, on a romantic evening, a special champagne or an excellent Italian prosecco. Two splendid and delicate "flutes" blown with refinement by the Murano masters for the famous Pauly manufacturer. The first goblet has a completely topaz yellow color, the second has a topaz yellow bowl while the stem and base are topaz pink. The bowls, according to the style of the oldest glasses, are particularly tall and elongated. Proverbial is their lightness given by the absolute purity of the blown glass. These are unique objects "sculpted in the air". Signed: Pauly Murano - Venice - 20th century Measurements: "topaz" colored flute cm. 24.5 "topaz and pink" colored flute cm. 23.5 € 400.00 per pair "- The Pauly & C. | CVM - Compagnia Venezia Murano, is an artistic glassworks in Murano founded more than one hundred and forty years ago. Its name comes from the merger in 1919 between Pauly & C., founded in 1902, and the Compagnia di Venezia e Murano, founded in 1866. The company also incorporates the trademark of the historical MVM Cappellin & C, a company acquired in 1932 together with the drawings and catalogs. In 1990 Pauly & C. | CVM - Compagnia Venezia Murano also acquired the Toso Vetri d'Arte glassworks. Two generations of master glassmakers have trained in its glassworks, some of whom, after learning the art of glass and developing their qualities, at different times, separated from it to found their own glassworks, including some of the main Murano glass companies such as Barovier, Seguso and Toso. The historical headquarters of Pauly & C in the "Palazzo Bianca Cappello" has closed its doors. Fortunately, thanks to four glass companies, the historical brand of "Pauly & C" will not disappear from San Marco. The agreement, signed between Palazzo Bianca Cappello srl and Pauly srl and the companies Ferro & Lazzarini srl, Laguna Murano Glass srl, Vecchia Murano srl and Galleria San Marco srl. With this agreement the "Pauly & C.V.M" brand will continue to be marketed, but in addition to conservation, the goal is also to maximize the value of the prestigious brand. In some rooms of the glassworks some of the most significant works of the Pauly collection will be exhibited pending their definitive move to a museum area. Also consistent is the quantity of pieces that now pass into the hands of the signatory companies of the agreement. "The new glass museum on the ground floor of the Trevisan Cappello palace at the Canonica bridge - say the glass entrepreneurs who signed the agreement to save Pauly - will thus fill a long-felt gap due to the absences in the Marciana area of a glass cultural structure." In this regard, it should also be said that the Ferro & Lazzarini company, in Fondamenta Navagero in Murano, exhibits the prototypes of glasses produced in the 1900s by Pauly for the Royal Houses of Italy, Russia, Morocco, Egypt and for the Agnelli, Pirelli and Crespi families. Some reproductions will be entrusted to the Eugenio Ferro company. "But the most important thing - the representatives of the companies say with pride - is that such a prestigious brand will remain in Venice"- "  Translated
