Extraordinary for its beauty and workmanship, this mythological milk glass chalice has a stem in the shape of a triton and, at the top of the lid that closes it, a refined and studied sculpture depicting the "god Neptune", born from the waters and currents and lord of the sea.

Definition of "milk glass"
It is a type of white glass similar to porcelain. It is obtained by opacifying the glass with tin oxide. Milk glass was used in the 17th and 18th centuries as an imitation of Chinese porcelain, especially for objects decorated with enamels. Rediscovered in the 20th century by glass factories such as Barovier & Toso and MVM Cappellin; in the 1950s, important results were achieved, as in the case of Fulvio Bianconi with the figures of the "Commedia dell'Arte" series made for Venini and with the works, as in our case, of masters Viò and Naccari and Antica Murano.
