Oil painting on canvas depicting a shaded scene in an interior. sizes 60x74cm. Biography: Giulio Cesare Cervi, set designer and painter, studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di San Luca in Rome. In 1848 he worked with the painter Pietro Venier at the Apollo Theater in Rome. In Reggio Emilia, from 1849 to 1851 he worked as a scenographer at the Teatro di Cittadella (with Luigi Casali) and from 1850 to 1865 at the Teatro Comunale, with Alessandro Prampolini. As a painter he decorated the stairs for the Reggio's Municipal Theater; also his interventions in Villa Manzotti. He was his student Luigi Bartolini.
