The anonymous painter who ventured to reinterpret one of Rubens' famous portraits skillfully captured some details of the original painting. The elaborate hairstyle of the lady is embellished with beautiful pearl pins that give a tactile sensation, almost as if one could feel the softness of the silk satin fabric of the magnificent dress, enriched with gold buttons. Also skilled in painting the ruff (collar), with very dense and narrow pleats, which was normally made of linen or starched muslin.
The "Portrait of Brigida Spinola Doria" is an oil on canvas painting, created in 1606 by the famous painter Peter Paul Rubens. The painting was commissioned by the Marquis Giacomo Massimiliano Doria of Genoa and is now exhibited at the National Gallery of Art in Washington.
