An interesting neo-classical style scagliola plastic group depicting the Madonna with Child embraced by a child or, more likely, by the same Infant Virgin. A small but significant work, notable for its compositional quality and the refined classical beauty of the faces. It could be defined as a bedside sculpture and certainly an "artist's proof".
