Beautiful and important antique MESCHAD rug with stunning three-dimensional floral decorations on a solid scarlet red ground and a large central "flowering island" that enhances its splendor. The slight signs of wear, typical for a rug of this age, add to its charm. The pile is wool with a cotton warp and weft, using vegetable dyes; fringes and border are in good condition. Washed and sanitized. The rug is approximately 70 years old.
