Large Venetian mirror in engraved and blown Murano glass

Elegant Venetian mirror made between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, an expression of refined Murano production for prestigious furnishings. The piece is characterized by a rich structure composed of blown and handcrafted glass elements. The frame is formed by finely engraved mirrored plates with floral motifs, cord-molded profiles, and numerous rosettes that harmoniously connect the various parts of the structure. The richly shaped crest is embellished with elegant vegetal and floral elements in hand-modeled glass, following the best Venetian tradition. Of particular interest is the accompanying documentation: an illustrated plate depicting the same model and an original card from the "Opificio di Colleganza fra Artisti ed Operaj diversi" (Workshop for Collaboration among Artists and Craftsmen), located in Piazza Goldoni, Calle dei Stagneri, Venice. These two precious period testimonies constitute significant historical and documentary value. The mirrors retain their original silvering and show widespread wear and oxidation, particularly evident in the central mirror and the side panels. These alterations, naturally aged over time, attest to the authenticity of the work and enhance its charm. Condition: The mirror is in good condition, with natural signs of age compatible with its period of creation. Over time, some conservation interventions and slight repairs have been made to some ornamental elements, as is commonly found in artifacts of this type and age. There are also some minor chips and minimal imperfections on some glass elements, which are not significant and are perfectly compatible with the age of the work, without compromising its overall aesthetic balance.
