Beautiful mantel clock in statuary white marble and finely chased and gilded bronze (mercury gilded). As is typical of elaborate clocks, the figurative decoration is allegorical: a dog next to a swan crowns the casing. The pillar supporting the movement casing is flanked by ancient Vestals, each in front of a tripod. Dial signed "Ridel à Paris". Period: LXVI. HxWxD: 57x38x11 cm.
