SMALL 16TH CENTURY CANDLE HOLDER CABINET
Description:
Elegant small cabinet in solid walnut wood, carved and dark patinated. The piece of furniture is distinguished by its small bracket feet and the classic mouldings of the period present under the top. The carvings on the front, of geometric and floral taste, lend it great elegance. The cabinet consists of a door and a drawer, the latter used as a candle holder in that era. On the back, an inscription with a cross and two initials is visible, likely referring to the church to which it belonged. It is probable that in the past it was placed in front of a prie-dieu. This is a piece of furniture of great taste and refinement, capable of elegantly furnishing any environment with a touch of antiquity. Florentine manufacture, from the Renaissance period, around the 16th century.
