A superb 20th-century replica of fine cabinetmaking, inspired by the famous designs of the Turin-based royal cabinetmaker Pietro Piffetti (mid-18th century).
The piece is veneered in walnut and rosewood and features exceptionally rich decoration across its entire surface:
The top, front and sides are entirely adorned with geometric medallions and foliage scrolls, whilst the central cartouche is embellished with courtly and folk scenes; the bone inlay is painted in Indian ink. The perimeter is embellished with rare and meticulously crafted polychrome semi-precious stone inlays.
The supports: Curved, scroll-shaped legs in richly carved and gilded wood, which merge with sinuous lines directly into the decorated aprons.
